FCC COURTWATCH 2026 REPORT
STILL IN CHAINS, STILL WITHOUT CARE
This report compiles one year of data observed and documented by Freedom Community Center Courtwatch from September 2025 through September 2026 during bond hearings of the 22nd Judicial Circuit. Over that year, Courtwatch documented more than 150 instances where people detained at the St. Louis City Justice Center came before judges reporting serious medical needs, and judges issued orders directing CJC to provide medical attention, medication, evaluation, or other care. This makes the decision of automatic “No Bond” offered by prosecutors and rubber-stamped by judges, deadly.
